Quick Setup (Browser Method)

No apps to install. Just open the browser on your LG TV.

1

Open the Web Browser

On your LG TV remote, press the Home button. Find and open the Web Browser app from the launcher bar at the bottom of the screen.

Tip: If you don't see the Web Browser on the launcher bar, scroll right to find it, or go to LG Content Store and search for "Web Browser". It is free and pre-installed on all webOS TVs.
2

Navigate to the Player URL

In the browser address bar, type:

https://ads.anettv.org/api/device/web-player

The player will automatically generate a unique device ID and register itself with the server. A 6-digit pairing code will appear on screen.

3

Pair Your TV

Go to your AdCast panel on a computer or phone:

  1. Navigate to Devices → Pair Device
  2. Enter the 6-digit code shown on the TV screen
  3. Name your device (e.g., "Reception LG TV")
  4. Assign a playlist or schedule and content starts playing

Advanced: Install as webOS App

For a more permanent setup, you can deploy the AdCast web player as a hosted web app on LG webOS using the LG Developer portal.

1.

Register at LG webOS TV Developer portal

2.

Install the webOS CLI tools on your computer

3.

Enable Developer Mode on your LG TV: install the "Developer Mode" app from the LG Content Store, sign in, and enable it

4.

Create a hosted web app pointing to https://ads.anettv.org/api/device/web-player and deploy it to your TV

Note: The webOS app method requires developer experience. For most users, the browser method above is the simplest approach.

Limitations & Recommendations

No kiosk lock

Anyone with the remote can exit the browser. There is no way to lock the TV into the player app.

Browser may time out

LG's web browser can close or go to sleep after a period of inactivity. You may need to re-open it periodically.

No offline playback

The browser-based player streams content from the server. If the internet drops, playback stops.

Not recommended for 24/7 unattended use

For permanent signage installations, we recommend an Android TV box or Raspberry Pi.
